A.J Krouse is a founding member of Frilot LLC, since 1995. He routinely represents insurers in coverage disputes and provides liability defense on all professional lines including legal malpractice and health care issues. He has represented high profile individuals on various liability issues. Mr. Krouse represents local, national and international corporations in complex commercial matters before trial and appellate courts and regulatory authorities. He also represents clients in various forms of alternative dispute resolution and has been selected to arbitrate and mediate disputes for other litigants. He has been selected as a court appointed special master. He is a frequent speaker on electronic discovery, mediation and arbitration issues. He is a trainer of mediators and arbitrators and on the faculty of the American Arbitration Association University.

Mr. Krouse also regularly serves as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Louisiana in the defense of the Road Home Program. Mr. Krouse has successfully argued several constitutional issues before state and federal courts including the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also assisted the State of Louisiana in the defense of several complex pharmaceutical cases where the State was named as a defendant in Multi District Litigation (MDL).

Over 29 years as a litigation partner including extensive jury trial experience, advising clients in the course of defending, prosecuting, and settling litigation, including pre-litigation risk analysis, conducting or directing internal investigations; negotiating with governmental agencies in connection with administrative proceedings and investigations; conducting alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings; managing electronic discovery (ESI) and database management.

Mr. Krouse has served as an arbitrator in over 180 arbitrations including large complex cases involving national and international parties and complicated multi party disputes. He has experience and training in both domestic and international arbitration laws and procedures, including AAA, ICDR, UNCITRAL, ICSID, ICC and LCIA rules and procedures.

Mr. Krouse provides neutral and dispute resolution services including serving as an arbitrator and mediator in domestic and international commercial, health care and life sciences, energy, securities and employment, franchise and construction disputes. He also provides special master, early neutral evaluation, mini-trial, fact-finding, assisted negotiation and settlement counsel services.

During his tenure at Frilot, Mr. Krouse has earned several awards and honors, including the following: 2012, 2013, and 2014 Best Lawyers in America in the area of Mass Torts Litigation; the AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell; 2007, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2014 Louisiana Super Lawyer; Corporate Counsel's 2012 Top Rated Lawyers Guide to Alternative Dispute Resolution; and the 2011 New Orleans City Business Leadership in Law Award, recognizing the top 50 lawyers in New Orleans.

Mr. Krouse has been inducted into the Louisiana Chapter of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (NADN). He was also inducted into the American College of Civil Trial Mediators as a fellow. Additionally, Mr. Krouse was selected to join the International Association of Defense Counsel ('IADC'), the Council on Litigation Management ('CLM') and both the College of Commercial Arbitrators (CCA)and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) as a fellow. He was named by the Board of Directors of the American Health Lawyers Association to serve on a Program Planning Committee for in-person training on dispute resolution in healthcare. A survey was developed by the Program Planning Committee to develop training on arbitration, mediation and peer review hearings that serves the needs of AHLA members.
